Dr. Lydia Okutoyi

MD, MMed, MPH

PROFILE

Lydia is a clinician by background, having worked in the public sector most of her career. She is the director of the division of Healthcare Quality (HCQ) at Kenyatta National Hospital. In her role, she largely supports the hospital in ensuring that systems and processes align to provide quality, safe and patient centered services. She also supports community level screening for cancer of the cervix. She has been a member of various TWG for quality and safety and MCH QOC at the MOH and seats at the Africa patient safety initiative.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in Medicine and Surgery (MBChB), and a postgraduate master in medicine in obstetrics and gynecology, Master in Public Health, Safety, Quality, Informatics and leadership (SQIL). She is a fellow of the International Quality Society, now FISQua.
